Ryszard Cieplechowicz: Tampa Bay vacancy study

A summary of the vacancy table by Ryszard Cieplechowicz. It shows what kinds of vacant housing the survey counts across 132 ZCTAs.

The ACS 2020-2024 estimates 184,380 vacant units out of 1,513,832 housing units in the selected ZCTAs. Of the vacant units, 81,351 (44.1%) are seasonal, recreational or occasional use, and 33,244 (18.0%) are for rent.

Coverage

Fifty-three ZCTAs are assigned to Hillsborough, 47 to Pinellas, 23 to Pasco and nine to Hernando. Eleven have fewer than 300 estimated vacant units and are flagged. See seasonal versus for-rent vacancy for what the categories mean.
